Author’s Event/Palisades Visitor Center

The University of Arizona Press has written to let me know of a very cool event (and I mean “cool” in more than one sense) this weekend up at the Palisades Visitor Center. Five local favorite people, including a few authors, will be on hand to discuss their work and sign copies of their books and art. Here’s the line-up:
Richard Shelton, author of Going Back to Bisbee
Suzanne Hensel, author of Look to the Mountains
Gary Tenen, one of the founders of Kartchner Caverns State Park
Frank Rose, creator of the botanical poster “Flowering Plants of the Catalina Mountains”
Artist Jeanne Hartmann, creator of the renowned print “The Lemmon Rock Lookout.”
I’ve read (and loved) a couple of these books and wrote a review of a book about the discovery of Kartchner Caverns (written by Neil Miller). In any case, the event looks both fun and interesting . . . and do I have to remind you that it will be COOLER up there?
Where: Palisades Visitor Center, Milepost 20 on Catalina Highway (road to Summerhaven).
When: Sunday, July 5, 2009 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
How much: FREE.

Hello, Hortense–
Great review on Kartchner Caverns, and a good book. People are still reading that review. I’m hoping you’ll be working for us again soon.
